Citrus County Solar Co-op Zoom Meeting, May 13th, Noon to 1 pm
May 13 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
You are invited to join the third virtual informational session of the Citrus County Solar Co-op on Thursday, May 13th from noon to 1 pm. Register for this no-cost event at SolarUnitedNeighbors.org/Citrus. The Citrus County Solar Co-op was launched on March lst, 2021, to offer interested individuals, homeowners, and small businesses in Citrus County information about solar energy.
This nonprofit effort is led by Solar United Neighbors of Florida in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Citrus County, Sierra Club Adventure Coast Group, Citrus County Audubon Society, Florida Springs Council, Nature Coast Americans United for Separation of Church and State, Nature Coast Unitarian Universalists, and Friends of Chassahowitzka.
The virtual session will explore how to best go solar and save money with clean energy while reducing our carbon footprint. Get involved! The co-op carries no obligation to invest in solar energy, although you will be able to access a discounted rate to install solar power for your home or small business as a part of the co-op. The co-op brings clean energy to participants by leveraging bulk purchasing to ensure competitive pricing and quality solar installations.
A big incentive to go rooftop solar is the extension of the Solar Investment Tax Credit that was passed by Congress recently. It allows residents to deduct 26% of the cost of installing a solar energy system from their federal taxes, making this a great time to take advantage of solar power.
