Chassahowitzka River spring restoration

December 7 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

8 to 11 am on Saturday, Dec 7th at the Chassahowitzka Campground boat ramp.

We are excited to announce that we are doing another springs restoration workday at the Chassahowitzka Campground Boat ramp!

We put in native plant gardens in the picnic and springs area. This adds very beneficial natural habitat and provides aesthetic value for everyone to enjoy including the wildlife! And now we are improving the springs itself!

We will need volunteers to help with planting, weeding, and de-mucking to remove silt and debris covering the sandy bottom and plugging the vent hole of the spring.  Come out and volunteer!  Bring a mucking shovel if you have one.

The Friends of the Chassahowitzka River is a grassroots group dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Chassahowitzka River, its springs, springshed, and flora and fauna. Our focus is the conservation of the natural beauty and ecological health of the Chassahowitzka River! This includes litter cleanups, native ecosystem restoration, and river restoration projects! Please join us in our grassroots endeavors!
